| The Director of Safety will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for managing a full time safety team and a regulatory-compliant Safety Management System. Responsibilities include: - Build, hire, train and manage the Naverus safety team
- Develop, implement and maintain a Safety Management System that meets the company’s current and future regulatory requirements including ICAO and FAA recognized standards
- Develop, implement and maintain internal Quality Management, Operations Management and Document Management processes across the organization that are part of the overall Safety Management System
- Develop safety and risk management initiatives, procedures and protocols
- Develop goals/strategies and measurements to insure continuous compliance with the requirements of the Safety Management System
- Present monthly safety updates to Senior Management Team detailing safety and compliance issues and periodically report safety status to the Board of Directors
- Develop and maintain Naverus emergency response, crisis management and business continuity plan
- Develop and direct periodic table top exercises with key leaders and partners
- Periodically review plans for timeliness and adherence to "best practices"
Qualifications: - 10 years experience in aviation / airline industry developing, implementing and managing Safety Management, Quality Management, Operations Management and Document Management Systems
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (and/or requisite industry & management experience) as well as the ability to manage in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing processes and requirements
- A thorough knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements including FAA and ICAO guidance
- Strong organization, leadership, time management and team motivation skills are essential for success
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
- Familiarity with data base management systems
